The first dog Elaine knew was Jasper: a golden cocker spaniel which joined the Smith family just before Elaine was born and named from the British Columbia trip - Summer 1963. During the years in Orinda, the Gordon Setters became the breed of the household. Elaine joined Dad occasionally at dog shows. The first setter was Sutherland's Urqhart (Sonny), then his mom (Meg) and the last setter was Tiffany. Eventually, with Don, that childhood memory turned into her family activity. The details will be told by those who joined her at shows and trials. From my angle: I heard all the happenings on replays visualizing her joy in having those fur-children.
