As the Holiday season is in full-swing and Christmas nears our family remembers the years gone by. Losing one member of the family that uplifted all of our spirits daily gives us a focus to continue in her memory. It will take all of us to pick up the slack with Elaine gone. Love one another and share the joy and happy times with friends and family and smile like she would always do in good times or bad.

Two months ago on Sunday night July 10th I got to tell my sister Elaine over the phone that I loved her and give her a hug and kiss while she was in the ambulance. As 9/11 flashes by after 10 years, the memories are still vivid. That last conversation with Elaine will be as vivid forever with me. I love her so much and miss her even more.
Amazing Grace has been the song of the day - it will always remind me of her wedding day - the Episcopol Church in Steamboat Springs with the bagpipes. As I reflect today, I understand how those families on 9/11/01 felt as there special, loved one was taken away so suddenly.

I worked with Elaine at Delta County Memorial Hospital and when she was teaching practical nursing students at Delta-Montrose Technical College, in Delta, Colorado.
She was a role model as a nurse and as an instructor of nursing students. I will always be grateful to her for both.
